Life in VIT(25BCE5714)

Being a day scholar at VIT is like living two parallel lives. My mornings usually start with a great battle between me and the alarm clock. Once I finally wake up, it's time to do my daily routine and take the bus. At first, my bus rides were mostly quiet—it was just me in my own world, keeping my own thoughts and listening to music. But after a few interactions with my bus mates, we began talking to each other. Over time, the interactions increased, and it is now a full-on talk with each other as time passes on the bus.

But the moment I step onto the campus, it’s a different world. I can see students rushing to their classes, including both hostellers and day scholars.  Classes, labs, assignments—it’s all a whirlwind. But somewhere between lectures and project deadlines, there’s always time for small joys because of the friends I made during my time at VIT.

In the Afternoon, we enter the food court. The food court at VIT is basically a spot where people bond with each other. It’s more than just a place to eat; it’s where friends sit, chat, and really get to know each other. The food is pretty good too. Most days, I find myself there with my friends, talking with each other over a meal and creating memories that will stay with me forever.

By evening, hostelers start planning their work for the night. That’s usually when we, the day scholars, head home by bus. Sometimes, we take the shuttle bus at 1:45 p.m., and if we have a full day, we wait for the evening bus, which starts at 5:00 p.m.. The thrill of getting inside the shuttle is an adventure of its own. So many students crowd around that it feels less like boarding a bus and more like competing in the Olympics. Even if you do get inside the bus, you have to save seats for your friends too.

Being a day scholar at VIT is about juggling both worlds. I get to experience the thrill of campus life during the day and the comfort of my home at night, and this is what makes my VIT journey unforgettable.
