 Student Portfolio Blog 

1. Introduction

Hello, my name is Mugunth. I am currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science and Engineering (Core) at Vellore Institute of Technology (Chennai) as part of the 2029 Graduating batch. I intend to share my experience and future Goals through this portfolio. 

2. What is a Portfolio?

In my opinion, a student portfolio is a collection of a student's experiences and their past work that demonstrates their achievements. It's a tool to showcase skills, knowledge, and growth. Portfolios can include achievements, projects, skills, providing a view of the student's learning progress.

3. Portfolio Content

   Skills:

  • I have good problem-solving skills.
  • I can adapt myself to the code and solve it accordingly.
   Projects:

     I have done a project on the Game "Tic Tac Toe" in Python, applying theoretical understanding to practical use.

4. Future Plans

Skills I’d like to learn include typing and soft skills like debugging and analytical thinking, which help me adjust to code. My second and third-year plans include internships and participating in events. I’d like to join computer science clubs, attend hackathons, and gain work experience. These will broaden my perspective on coding.

5. Belief or Motto

My personal belief is that "I can always improve, and effort is the path to growth ". Making Progress matters a lot to me. It shows that a person's abilities are not fixed and can always be improved. 

6. Lessons learned 

Initially, I didn’t know much about coding or have the mindset to learn. Little by little, my interest grew after learning from my brother. He taught me everything he knew. I made progress every day and finally could do programming.

7 . Conclusions 

I encourage everyone to pursue interests and follow passions. Seek experiences that develop your skills. By doing so, you’ll discover new possibilities. Thank you for reading my portfolio. I look forward to sharing more in the future.

                                 A Visit to Dakshinachitra It was a short drive from our college to Dakshinchitra, where we went for our Industrial Visit. It was a Friday, and thus began our first visit outside of College. We started by 9:10 am and reached there by 9:40 am. Life in VIT(25BCE5714)

Being a day scholar at VIT is like living two parallel lives. My mornings usually start with a great battle between me and the alarm clock. Once I finally wake up, it's time to do my daily routine and take the bus. At first, my bus rides were mostly quiet—it was just me in my own world, keeping my own thoughts and listening to music. But after a few interactions with my bus mates, we began talking to each other. Over time, the interactions increased, and it is now a full-on talk with each other as time passes on the bus. But the moment I step onto the campus, it’s a different world. I can see students rushing to their classes, including both hostellers and day scholars.  Classes, labs, assignments—it’s all a whirlwind. But somewhere between lectures and project deadlines, there’s always time for small joys because of the friends I made during my time at VIT.  In the Afternoon, we enter the food court.
